In order to ship medical devices to the European market, it was necessary to acquire CE marking based on IVDD. Consequently, it was necessary to prepare all the translation data in advance.

As TOIN knew that there was a bottleneck with the existing in-house review process, TOIN persuaded the reviewer 's boss to greatly change the review system. TOIN paired up a translator and reviewer for each language in advance, and created a mechanism that enabled the reviewer to be contacted directly if there was a question involving translation. As a result, the time needed for both translation and review, as well as the time needed to implement revisions (following the review) were all greatly reduced.
