■Before adopting T-tact AN-ZIN®, they used a free translation website. It took a massive amount of time and effort. They could not use free file translation tools due to concerns over security.
―　How did you handle translations prior to adopting T-tact AN-ZIN®? What sort of problems occurred?

Mr. Sugimura:We would select and translate on a sentence-by-sentence basis. We had to select each word or sentence, copy it, get it translated, then copy it again, paste it, and adjust the format. Doing all that took a massive amount of time. There are several free online tools allowing you to upload files for translation, but almost all the documents I handle contain information that cannot be disclosed not just outside the company but even internally, so I was unwilling to upload whole files because of security concerns.

■The ability to edit text while retaining the layout was the key deciding factor. Calculating the amount of time saved by adopting T-tact AN-ZIN® enabled consent for its adoption.

―　What was the deciding factor that made you choose T-tact AN-ZIN®?

Mr. Sugimura:T-tact AN-ZIN®’s Translation Editor feature for translating inside files allows you to check the consistency of each sentence without altering the original layout or the file type. You can retranslate incomplete sentences uploaded to AN-ZIN after combining, separating, or correcting them, then download with the same layout as the original file. I was very impressed by all the functions available with T-tact AN-ZIN®, I knew I would be able to improve productivity with it.

―　What challenges did you face in deciding to adopt T-tact AN-ZIN®? How did you go about proposing it inside the company?

Mr. Sugimura:I knew it would improve productivity, but I needed to explain to what level that would be effective. I had measured the amount of time I spent on work tasks, so I compare figures from the T-tact AN-ZIN® with my past performance to calculate how much time I could save with better productivity for my translation tasks overall. I used this information to propose its adoption and gain consent.
