■ Concerns over security in the use of free translation tools

― How did you handle translations prior to adopting AN-ZIN?

Mitsuya: We asked law offices to translate confidential agreements, and used free online translation tools for other documents.

― What sort of problems did you have?

Mitsuya: The fact that we couldn’t use the free online translation tools to handle confidential matters concerning our operations made things difficult for us.

― What led you to consider adopting this service?

Mitsuya: The CEO asked me to look into the matter owing to the concerns over security for the free online translation tools, so I got together with the head of marketing, the leader of R&D, and the person in charge of information management to examine what to do.

■ All the people responsible for choosing from the many AI services available recommended AN-ZIN

― Did you compare it with products of other companies?

Mitsuya: We did a comparison of five services. One took a long time to start the trial, so we rejected that. We conducted a trial with the remaining four, with four people as the selecting panel.

― What criteria did you use for the judging?

Mitsuya: We used four points:
(1) security, (2) accuracy of translation, (3), ease of use, and (4) price.

For the accuracy of translation, we took samples from inquiries from other countries to compare how accurately they could handle technical terms for plating. AN-ZIN provided the most correct translations.
We also checked the accuracy of translation for confidentiality agreements with foreign companies. AN-ZIN was first or second for quality in this, depending on the text.

― Were there other points apart from the accuracy of translation that made you choose AN-ZIN?

Mitsuya: There were three such points.
Firstly, we felt assured for its security.
Next, we were able to quickly trial it, and found the cost performance to be good.
Another key point is that the company gave a good response to us.
All the selection members recommended AN-ZIN./p>

■ Facilitates communication between staff members as well as with clients abroad

― Have there been any changes in your operations since adopting T-tact AN-ZIN®?

Mitsuya: We don’t have to worry about security when using it in our operations now, so our Japanese staff can broadly apply it to Japanese to English translations and our foreign staff to English to Japanese translations. This has helped smooth communication between team members. I think it has also lifted our productivity.

― What are your impressions on using it?

Mitsuya: I think it struggles with legal terminology, though the same goes for the other services too.

― AN-ZIN has a dedicated engine for the legal field. Please consider making use of that engine.
